KAC workshops
The aim behind having workshops at KAC Qatar is to interact with the cultural craft society in Qatar with the purpose of developing new skills and knowledge towards traditional processes of ensuring creativity in the country. One of sub outline under KAC workshops is “Class” which is a day workshop only. These classes can be attended by everyone, which will be taught in both English and Arabic.

The Al Markhiya Gallery
The Al Markhiya Gallery in 2014 shifted it “temporary” home to a permanent housing at the Katara art center. In 2017, the gallery opened its second place at the fire station in a two-story modern loft space. The art gallery seasons is from September to May along with exhibitions that happen every 6-8 weeks. Every artist is given the opportunity to present their art work to various clients and guests on opening night. The summer collection along with the previous season collections are often exhibited at the gallery.
The Logo
The logo of the old neighborhood in Doha, Al Markhiya, was inspired by the shape of the neighborhood seen from photographs. An interesting form crops up resembling a butterfly with two different wings when blending angular shapes with a half a butterfly. The wings of a butterfly resonate with the upcoming and professional arts of the Arab world. The flecks of colors on an artist’s palette showcase the work of an artist along with the geographical search for the ideal exhibits and inspirational collection. To offer a stable base for the flying forms, a black typography was used.
