Bi-cycle Marathon

Cycling is something that many of us have been perpetually doing since our childhood. The Public work authority “Ashgal” achieved the world record for the same. The cycling marathon was organized in The Olympic cycling track stretched up to 33 kms long and 7 meters wide.  The track was made using more than 25 tunnels used for bike underpass and five bridges. The cyclers were allowed to extend till the speed 50 km per hour. The well-constructed and decently maintained track has about 1500 lights which makes It convenient for bikers to ride during dark.

Asphalt Concrete Road With No Joint

Yet another Guinness world record set by Qatar is titled for a long continuous piece of asphalt that has no break or joints. Under the Al khor road project, the 25km long asphalt road was paved sans any joint. The work continued for about 242 hours approximately that sums up 10 days nonstop labor. The area covered by asphalt was almost 70,0000 square meters as mentioned by the public figure authority Ashgal.

Deepest Artificial port basin

Construction of the Hamad Port basin started in 2011. It is a 17-metre-deep basin with a width of 700 meters and reached up to 4kms long. The award was received in September 2019 by the Ministry of Transport and Communications for the construction of Hamad Port an extensively deep artificial basin. The construction was a business of more than 2.5 years. During the construction, a secure consideration was given to the wildlife and marine life in the procedure of extracting the million dredged material to be used later in construction.

Crossing of Qatar by wheelchair

The purpose behind the struggle to set the world record was to encourage equality of opportunity for disabled beings and treat them as much equal as other citizens of the country are being treated. Qatar's Ahmed Al-Shahrani achieved Guinness World Record for the crossing of the country by wheelchair in approximately 42 hours. The para-athlete Ahmad is the first and fastest to travel across Qatar in a wheelchair. The journey began from Abu Samra on 1 April and lasted till 3rd April.

Largest Drinking Water Storage Tank

Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) entered the Guinness Book of Records for Largest Drinking Water Storage Tank worldwide under the category of major strategic water storage tanks. The world record certificate is achieved by Kahramaa as the tank has the potential to store more than 115 million US gallons of water. It is the achievement racked for the innovative strategy to efficiently enhance the water security in Qatar. The Guinness World Records achieved by Qatar, reflects the innovative ideas that inspire the people worldwide to ignite their creativity.

Largest Pin-board

The largest bulletin board was constructed by the association the family consulting center, Qatar Social work and AMAN (Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center). The exact measurement of the board is 105.72 m² and weighs around 1052 kilos. In Qatar largest pinboard was displayed on the occasion of children's day in the Katara Cultural Village. Thus, the board has more than 5000 cards stuck to its surface about the children's day wishes. The achievement is marked on 20 November 2019.

Where walking becomes a very tedious task for most of us, Jad Hamdan has backed a certificate for a 'Guinness world record'. The man walked for 1:23:56 hours, to be precise, and became the record holder for crossing Qatar in the shortest time.

Largest chandelier In Al Hitmi & Co building

Not many know that the chandelier in Al Hitmi & Co building along the Corniche is quite popular. The is named "Reflective Flow" and was installed in June 2010. The largest chandelier holds a Guinness world record for its size and weight. It weighs approximately 18,000 kg and has 165, 000 LED units.  Designed by Beau McClellan, the 19ft tall 41ft wide.
